Welcome to The Glass Elemental's commission process! I specialize in creating fantasy, whimsical, botanical, and nerdy stained glass pieces that bring magic to your space. Please note that I focus exclusively on fantasy/whimsical themes - think D&D, mythical creatures, botanical wonders, and fantastical designs. If your vision doesn't align with this aesthetic, I'd be happy to refer you to another artist who might be a better fit.
Winter 2025 - Fall 2026 Pricing Structure:
All commissions are priced using the following formula:
Materials Cost + Artist Time
Materials cost is calculated at $0.50 per square inch + $3 per piece. For example, an 8"x12" panel with 35 pieces would be: (96 sq inches × $0.50) + (35 pieces × $3) = $48 + $105 = $153.
Specialty elements like dichroic glass, wood bookend bases, wall plaques, and other project add-ons will also be factored into your commission’s overall cost.
Artist time is calculated during production at a rate of $20/hour.
Carley will provide a maximum time estimate for your project based on size and complexity of the design. Maximum times typically fall within 4-10 hours.
Carley will track actual time during production and provide time log within your final invoice notice. If actual time is less that original estimated time, this will be reflected in a reduced final invoice. If actual time exceeds original estimated time, client will not be charged more that original estimate.
Next Steps
Once submitted, Carley will review your request within 2-3 business days. If your concept aligns with the studio’s artistic focus, we'll schedule a consultation (in-person, virtual, or phone) to discuss your vision in detail. Following our consultation, Carley will provide a formal quote, initial design sketch, and estimated timeline. A final design concepts will be created after the deposit is received.
